7x19 Stainless Steel Cable - Type 304 from Westech Rigging
We stock stainless steel wire rope in the 7x19 construction. It is commonly used in marine environments near salt water, and is very common on sailboats. We also sell it for use in food production plants where galvanized cable just won’t suffice. It is not commonly used for making slings and chokers, although we can do that upon request.

Commercial quality "aircraft grade" cable is made from galvanized steel wire or stainless steel wire. Galvanized aircraft cable provides high tensile strength and adequate corrosion resistance for most commercial applications. Stainless steel cable provides slightly lower tensile strength, but greater resistance to corrosion.
316/316L Stainless Steel Round Wire
Similar in composition to Type 302, Type 316 stainless steel wire has a slightly higher nickel content and 2-2.50% molybdenum giving this alloy better corrosion resistance. Type 316's tensile strength is 10-15% lower than that of Type 302, and the alloy is slightly less magnetic in the spring temper than Type 302.
