Stainless Steel - Grade 416 (UNS S41600)
416 is the most machinable grade of stainless steel. It is a low cost grade and can be used unhardened, hardened and highly tempered states. Hardness is optimised at the expense of other properties and corrosion resistance is lower than for austenitic grades. Applications include valves, gears etc.
